WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT - £19,283

The Role

The Warehouse Team are responsible for managing deliveries and dispatch in SIS. As a Warehouse Assistant you'll join a small, friendly team taking delivery of goods which are then stored and re-dispatched across the UK and around the world.  The main tasks include:

Organisation of goods inwards, stores and dispatch, including signing in of goods.

Carrying out all aspects of mail and stores receipt.

Delivery of goods throughout the UK.

Maintenance of the workshop tools and equipment and workshop cleaning.

Movement of cumbersome/heavy items through use of a fork lift truck.

Escort duties.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, PERSONAL QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

For this role, it is essential for all applicants to:

hold a clean driving licence for driving cars and light commercial vehicles;

be physically fit enough to engage in activities such as moving of heavy equipment;

have a flexible attitude as the job entails undertaking a wide range of activities, sometimes at short notice;

be willing to undertake training in respect of Health and Safety practice and procedures, both generally and in respect of any specific equipment used;

Possess good team working and interpersonal skills;

be computer literate and numerate;

be able to communicate effectively.

It would be desirable if applicants were qualified to drive a fork lift truck, had previous experience of driving in central London, general carpentry skills, or were eligible to drive C1 category vehicles (applicants would have automatic eligibility if their driving licence had been obtained before 01/01/97).
