FACILITIES ASSISTANT - £17,763

The Role

The following are the principal tasks of the Facilities Team.  The list is not exhaustive and does not preclude the Facilities Team Manager from allocating other tasks to enable current departmental priorities to be achieved. You will be directly accountable to the Facilities Team Manager who is responsible for day to day activities and tasking. 

Undertake any Estate Service task as directed by the Facilities Team Manager to meet current and future departmental priorities.

Carry out cleaning and portering duties.

Carry out all aspects of mail and stores rounds and deliveries.

Carry out removal of waste, redundant stores, etc.

Destruction of waste.

Undertake painting and decorating within the London Estate.

Undertake the movement of heavy items (including the use of a fork lift truck).

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

For this role, it is essential for all applicants to:

hold a clean driving licence for driving cars and eligibility to drive commercial vehicles, ie Transit van size;

be physically fit enough to engage in activities such as moving office furniture and equipment.

have a flexible attitude as the job entails undertaking a wide range of activities, sometimes at short notice;

be willing to undertake training in respect of Health and Safety practice and procedures, both generally and in respect of any specific equipment used;

Possess good team working and interpersonal skills;

be computer literate and numerate;

be able to communicate effectively.

It would be desirable if applicants were qualified to drive a fork lift truck, had previous experience of painting and decorating or experience of driving in central London.
