BUSINESS ANALYSTS
£25,133 - £46,355
Working closely with people throughout SIS, you'll develop an in-depth understanding of the intelligence sector, the Service and our ever-evolving objectives. You'll use this knoweldge to define the ways in which our business processes, policies and information systems should evolve. After in-depth analysis and validation, you'll make sure that all new requirements are communicated clearly to SIS development teams or external contractors.
In short, you'll be the vital link between the organisation and our technical development teams, so you should be someone with outstanding communication skills, as confident in front of a non-technical audience as a technical one. Although the majority of the changes you recommend will be with our IT systems, you'll also identify ways in which our other work practices can be improved and disseminate this information throughout the Service.
To join us as a Business Analyst, you should either have a 2:1 in Computer Science (or other relevant degree) or experience in a Business or Systems Analyst role. In addition, you should have analytical structured methodology skills as well as experience of using UML and the Rational Enterprise suite (or similar). Finally, you'll be familiar with the whole project life-cycle.
For the experienced role, you'll need to have worked extensively with enterprise applications using UML and Rational Enterprise Suite (or a similar structured methodology). As someone who has worked at a senior level in a Business or Systems Analyst role, you'll also have a sound knowledge of the whole project development life-cycle.
