Systems Testers

£26,661 - £38,153 plus skills allowance if applicable.

Based in London

The Secret Intelligence Service has a number of opportunities for IT testing specialists.  You'll need experience of testing within the Software Development Lifecycle, specifically system-level testing, and good knowledge of the fundamental test process.  Previous experience of testing large-scale, corporate systems using a systematic approach to testing would be beneficial, as would experience of test automation.  ISEB certification is desirable.  In short, we're looking for people with a range of knowledge, expertise and skills and there will be training available to build on your current experience.

The role involves undertaking test-related tasks across the Software Development Lifecycle and a wide variety of iT systems and services.  Responsibilities will include system testing, both functional and non-functional testing activities and systems integration testing.  You'll also be advising ICT development teams on the organistation's testing strategy and developing best practice.  In addition, you'll liaise with project managers and other stakeholders, providing testing assurance as appropriate.

SIS (or MI6 as you may know us) exists to collect secret foreign intelligence that helps the Government protect this country's security and prosperity.  Clearly we need robust systems that are fit for purpose.  Based in London, you will be part of a small team that's been newly established to implement and operate an independent IT testing function for the organisation.

Please note, we only accept applications from British citizens.

You should not discuss your application with anyone.

Closing date for applications is 22nd March 2010.
